Watch CityU's Video-on-Demand at Your Home Now

by Joe Lee

The University's Video-on-Demand facility has been in service for a long time, enabling users to watch archived videos on campus. Now the facility has been extended to your home and you can view the videos via the CityLink Plus dial-up facility.

Currently, there are more than 170 videos, and the number keeps growing. Apart from the academic topics, such as lectures, conferences, forums, seminars, demonstrations and course materials, videos of other interests like "The President Interview" and

are also found. To watch the Video-on-Demand at home, please connect to the CityU campus network via CityLink Plus, and from the Intranet menu, select "VideoNet" and then "City VoD" option.

The Computing Services Centre (CSC) is working on releasing the Video-on-Demand facility on the Internet, which means the CityU community will be able to watch the videos on the Internet via any Internet Service Providers (ISP) using technologies like broadband. The service will be announced later when it is ready.

Enjoy the excellent collection of Video-on-Demand on campus or at your home, and should there be any query, please contact our Help Desk at ext 7658.
